FAQs
1. What is Ed-Ventures in Missions (EVM)?
Ed-Ventures in Missions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering personal growth through serving others. Our mission is to improve the lives of impoverished populations worldwide while empowering volunteers through meaningful service, cultural exchange, and adventure. Our main focus now is providing free of cost medical care in remote communities, where healthcare is difficult to access.
2. What makes EVM different from other mission organizations?
EVM is built on lived experience. Our founder grew up in the Peruvian Amazon and understands the challenges of poverty firsthand. Through partnerships with local healthcare organizations, We prioritize sustainable impact, cultural respect, and holistic care for both the communities we serve and the volunteers who join us.
3. Who can participate in an EVM mission trip?
Anyone with a heart for service! While we often engage healthcare workers and students, you do not need to be in the medical field to participate. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, ages, and skill sets.
While we recommend a medical background, many of our trips have roles beyond medical care, such as logistics, teaching, community outreach, and children’s programs. If you are
in healthcare, your skills will be used directly—but all volunteers contribute in meaningful ways.
4. How long are the mission trips?
Most EVM trips last 1–2 weeks, depending on the location and scope of the project. This timeframe allows volunteers to immerse themselves in the community, serve effectively, and return home renewed.
